Pelham Baseball Covid-19 Guidelines

After careful review, and in accordance with the New Hampshire’s Stay at Home 2.0 Amateur and Youth Sports ‘Return to Play’ guidance, the following guidelines relative to the operating of Amateur and Youth sports (per) are being planned for Pelham Baseball and will go into effect June 22, 2020 for the 2020 summer season.  Adopted specifically for Pelham Baseball, these new guidelines were created after reviewing recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC); the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS); the NH Economic Reopening Task Force; Babe Ruth National HQ and NH Babe Ruth.

  • All staff, volunteers and athletes should bring and wear reusable cloth face coverings over their nose and mouth when around others and not actively engaged in athletic activities and when/where social distancing is not possible.
  • All coaches and players will bring their own equipment and water bottles.  Players are NOT allowed to share equipment or water bottles.  Coaches may maintain a limited supply of team equipment in the event it is needed; however it will be disinfected prior to player use.  Player’s water bottles should be clearly marked.
  • All coaches and players are encouraged to use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of each practice / game.
  • All coaches and players will be required to have hand sanitizer as part of their equipment.
  • Players and coaches should maintain 6 feet of separation whenever possible.
  • Player’s equipment will be stored outside the fence in space provided.  There will be no storage of equipment bags in the dugouts or on the playing field.  Players are encouraged to bring foldable chairs to use.
  • Until further notice all dugouts are off limits.
  • Coaches will go over this guidance with the players prior to start of practice or games.
  • Pelham Baseball board members will be on hand to monitor social distancing and compliance with protective actions with regards to players, coaches, and volunteers.  These individuals will help guide players on where to place their equipment and ensure good social distancing measures are being maintained.
  • All coaches and players will be screened on arrival to each practice / game.
    • Any player or coach exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 (see universal guidelines for list of potential symptoms) will be instructed to leave the field and return home immediately
    • If any member of the team (players or coaches) feel sick or present symptoms they must remove themselves from field of play for at least ten (10) days until symptoms have cleared
  • There will be no gum or seed consumption on site.
  • Pelham Baseball will provide trash receptacles.  All trash must be cleared from and around field following each practice / game.
  • Restrooms at Muldoon Park will remain open but should be used for bathroom needs only.
  • Concessions at Muldoon Park may open in a limited fashion (offering a reduced menu and with protections for volunteers and customers) when ready.
  • Spectators must always remain on the opposite side of dugouts and away from players during games or practices.

Pelham Baseball will continually work with town and state officials for further guidance on responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Pelham Baseball board by Emailing

Update on 2020 Season

Good morning Pelham Baseball,

I want to thank everyone for their patience during this whole process. We have had to make some very difficult decisions that quite frankly are not easy to make considering what is going on in the world right now. First off we have made the difficult decision to cancel Buddy Ball, T-ball (5-6) , AA Minors (7-8), and AAA Minors (9-10). The overwhelming sentiment was that it would be too difficult to keep the players safe according to state guidelines and keep it fun at the same time. We will be refunding all familes in these ages as soon as we can.

This does NOT mean that baseball is over for these kids this Summer. We have some plans in place for when thing open up including clinics and other baseball activities which will all be free so please watch for emails going forward. We are also looking into a possible short Fall season if we can make it work. I will keep everyone posted.

As far as Majors and Babe Ruth we are still a go. You will be getting a seperate update very soon as far as how we will proceed.

That is it for now. Stay safe everone!
